Smart coolers

Tap to open. Take what you want.

This secure grab-and-go cooler unlocks with a card, a tap, or a mobile wallet and charges for what is taken, and its small footprint suits lobbies, upper floors, and satellite spaces where a full market will not fit.

What you get

A market in the space of a fridge.

Tap a card or phone to unlock the door, take what you want, and the purchase is charged when the door closes. Because the door stays locked until a user is identified, the cooler works in busy areas, tight spaces, and places where an open market would see too much loss. Smart coolers take card, tap, and mobile wallet, and they are the one piece of equipment we place that does not take cash.

Before you ask

Questions about smart coolers.

What does a smart cooler cost?

Nothing to install. We provide the cooler and cover installation, and you also receive a complimentary consultation and a no-obligation recommendation for the space.

What does it cost on an ongoing basis?

It can run at no cost to you by paying for itself through sales. As with a market, you can also subsidize items or fund allowances to offer it as a benefit.

Can people pay with cash?

Not at a smart cooler. It takes card, tap, and mobile wallet only, and it is the one piece of equipment we place that does not take cash. Every vending machine and micro market kiosk takes cash along with card, tap, and mobile wallet, and many sites pair a cooler with one of them.

How is this different from a micro market?

A market has open shelving and a checkout kiosk and suits a room where people browse, while a smart cooler is locked, much smaller, and better suited to a lobby, upper floor, clinic corridor, or residential clubhouse. Many sites run a market in the main room and coolers elsewhere in the building.

Is it secure enough for an unstaffed space?

Yes, that is what it is designed for. The door will not open without an identified user, so it works in apartment clubhouses, lobbies, and other spaces without on-site staff.

Can it hold fresh food?

Yes, and most do. Salads, sandwiches, wraps, yogurt parfaits, breakfast burritos, and more are delivered on our own routes, and we keep an eye on dates as we restock.
